  • I am is physical oceanographer with an interest in the physics of the ocean circulation at submesoscales (100s of m to 10s of km). The ocean at these scales exhibits a dynamically rich class of motions comprising eddies, fronts and instabilities, with a lifecycle typically of the order of a several hours to a few days. My group use a combination of realistic simulations (ROMS) and idealized process studies using LES to explore and describe the dynamics, instabilities, and scale-interactions of these flows.
  • My research has been funded by the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), India and the Department of Science and Technology (DST).

  • CNN-AEs and PINNs for flow instabilities and turbulence
  • Geophysical Fluid Dynamics
  • Hydrodynamic Instabilities
  • Coupled Ocean-Atmosphere Modelling
